LAX LIGHT GOALIE

ACADEMY CLINIC

We are contacting boys and girls lacrosse goalies from ages 10 – 18 and their parents to invite them to our free “LAX LIGHT” fall goalie clinics. Our training focuses on the goalies eyes, hands and feet. We help goalies develop good habits, mental focus and train to be in the right position at the right place at the right time. We keep it simple, keep it focused and we keep it real.

We believe lacrosse goalies are not targets to shoot at.

Using our patent pending coaching method ggoalies will have a great time interacting with our today’s latest technology which projects visual cues on the practice surface. Following moving players icons goalies quickly improve their level of play simply because it feels like they are playing a video game and the coaches can concentrate on their eyes, hands and feet movement.

We will also have Katie Brooks meeting players and goalies as well. Katie is a former Division 1 player who is currently training with the Canadian World Cup Lacrosse Team. She is a special player and an amazing person.

We welcome you and a couple of guest to come and train with us for an hour. It will be worth the trip to see and train with the  LAX LIGHT and you will see the difference an hour can make training with “LAX LIGHT” at the Goalie Academy

After a fifth overall finish in the JWHL, and a third place finish in the league playoffs, the Boston Shamrocks U19 White team will look to improve upon those results in the 2012-13 season.  To that end the Shamrocks will hold tryouts on April 13 from 6:00-8:00PM, and Saturday April 14 from 10:00AM until Noon.

“We have eight players heading off to the college ranks, six of whom are moving on to D1 programs,” said Head Coach Josh Hechter. “We have an excellent core group returning, and I am looking forward to tryouts to see who our next impact players will be.”

Sports Information Technology

Athletes are using today’s latest technology products.

Coaches are combing the Internet for today’s latest technology’ to gain a competitive edge and to give their players visual information needed to play at a high level of competition. Nike and Smart Light Technology are two companies that are developing products for coaches and players that provides valuable information during practices.

Nike SPARQ Vapor Strobe Eye Wear

By blocking or disrupting vision using a strobe or flicker effect that can be varied in speed, an athlete can develop quicker reaction times and motor skills. The strobe effect improves reaction time by switching between clear and blocked vision, which trains the brain to anticipate what‘s coming when the eyes are blocked. Features include an adjustable head strap for a secure fit and liquid-crystal lens technology with variable speeds for different levels of training.

Smart Light Technology

In everything we do, we believe in challenging the status quo.

We do this by developing ideas that are creatively designed, simple to understand and user-friendly.  We believe in creating interactive learning environments through the use of full motion color graphics as visual reinforcement.

As coaches we enjoy teaching and training players, but have become frustrated trying to use traditional practice tools. Missed communicating the intent of the drill is often frustrating for both the players and coaches. It wastes valuable practice time. Our passion is designing visually compelling learning tools that are simple, easy to understand and effective.
